Horses

I had a professor once who was very well know for his photo realism art depicting the subject matter of physicality. My favorite of his work are his pictures depicting horses. He has a unique eye to capture every muscle and physical attribute to these horses through physical activities of movement such as jumping . It was absolutely magnificent to have known him and to see his work. His name is Joesph Piccillo, and he actually hung out with artists such as Cindy Sherman and Robert Longo. It's was pretty cool to hear about his stories of them too.

So I was Inpired by the stark contrast of black and white in his work and when I bought this dress by Xhileration a few years back from Target, I knew why I picked it as a wardrobe choice. It reminded me of my professor from college Joseph Piccillo. The inspiration is right there in the fabric print reminding me of his Horses.

Here is my outfit of the day that is inspired by his artwork.

This is a older outfit of mine but I have alternatives on the links below under outfit details.

Seasons Mash up with Monet

Claude Monet the founder of French Impressionism was a painter that was very ambitious of documenting the French countryside. This led him to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons.

Claude Monet Painting : The Iris Garden at Giverny

Monet's eye for bright colors and his paintings of seasons inspired my outfit for today. Its a sort of mash up of a few seasons.

You see when I lived in the tundra of lake effect snow in New York, the seasons were a constant change to look forward too.

Being here in the Bay although the seasons do not go through drastic changes it has it's perks.

I now get to wear my wardrobe for more than necessity in warmth but lets face it I love dresses so when I get to wear one for more than 2 seasons its a treat. I get to wear spring in the winter while it feels like fall.

Sorry summer.

This dress really has that Monet painting spring quality.

I want to ride my bicycle!

During the holiday season I had to move from a harmful mold in my apartment. Luckily my fiancé, dog, and wardrobe were not harmed. We had to pack and move all of our belongings to a new location while staying with family. I wanted to look at the bright side of things because I felt frustrated so I had to uplift my spirits. I realize that there was a lot to be thankful for under the circumstances and that I needed to just keep cycling.

My Friend rode her Bicycle to me through states this summer for 28days. She had hardships along the way. Self  doubt crept into her head but she just kept cycling. Eventually she rode her way to my state and I always keep her courage with me in mind.

I thought what a great inspiration for the blog this week. What I mean by that is when the road gets a little icky and gross and its broken you just hop back on your bike and keep riding. So that's what I'm doing.

Literally and figuratively, bicycles!

My old apartment being the broken road and my enthusiasm to move on being the bike.
So I thought I have just the right outfit to visually encapsulate this peace of mind.

On a fashion note, I also love pairing mustard up with any color but it feels especially lovely with blue. Just like the roads unpredictability, fashion can be unpredictable too.

So some up lifting of spirits I did!

I also finally felt that this was the right outfit to pair these lovely little Betsy Johnson earrings.
They are so up lifting and adorable so I had to because darn it, despite the frustration and worry, I was ready to be in a good mood.
